abat-jour

When you walk into Abat-Jour (French for "lamp shade"), you will be surrounded by a comfortable atmosphere of one-of-a-kind gifts, antiques, furnishings, wall art and unique custom lamps and light fixtures, many made in house by Abat-Jour. William Evans, owner, welcomes you personally into his shop as though it is his home. Always warm and inviting, you will want to stay the day. Visit us to see why William likes to say, "A great lamp lights up the soul."

Abat-Jour focuses on making your projects as unique as your personality. Timeless designs with personal attention to details that add value to your home. By blending your existing pieces with new or repurposed one, we create a sense of comfort resulting in a highly personalized space. We enjoy working closely with clients over the course of the project to achieve an exclusive end result. Every new project is viewed as an opportunity to further challenge the imagination, produce quality and display versatility. By appointment, we can come to your home and collaborate on creating your custom home designing plan while taking into consideration your lifestyle requirements, time frame and budget.

William Evans, owner and operator of Abat-Jour, LLC Interiors, a Baton Rouge resident for many years, has been in the lighting and lamp business since 1991, and has owned and managed his own shop since 1996. William began decorating homes in 1997 for many local clients and executives. His work has garnered accolades and praise. Please visit the Media Gallery to view some of the publications in which he has been showcased.

A man of many talents, with a broad imagination, William has always dreamed of having a studio in the Baton Rouge area where he could incorporate all of his abilities. Abat-Jour's newest location, a quaint older home on Foster Drive in an "urban renewal" area, has brought that dream to fruition.
